History In Brief


Beginnings:

Our firm is the oldest public accounting firm in Mt. Pleasant. It was established in 1946 when Jewel Harrison McGuire left his post as division auditor with Southwestern Light Company to devote his full attention to the field of public accounting.

A Family Business:

In 1959, James Harrison McGuire, CPA, joined his father to form the partnership McGuire & McGuire. At this time, James (Jim) had completed two years in the Houston office of the national firm, Ernst & Ernst, (now Ernst & Young).
During the next fifteen years, other partners joined and left the firm. In September of 1976, the firm admitted its first female partner. Debra Glover McGuire, CPA, joined her husband, Jim, to once again form the partnership McGuire & McGuire.
In November 1979, the partnership incorporated making the firm’s legal name McGuire & McGuire, Certified Public Accountants, A Professional Corporation.
In 2005, R. Brian Dyke, CPA, became a partner as the firm changed its name to McGuire-Dyke CPAs, P.C. Jim and Debra have now retired, and Brian has assumed full ownership of the firm.

Today:

Presently, McGuire-Dyke CPAs, P.C. has five accountants on staff. Together our staff provides over 125 years of combined experience to our clients. Our goal is provide our clients with accurate and timely information to help them make good financial decisions.
